Absolutely. If you decide that you’d rather focus on the road without the hassle of a gear stick, we can easily swap you over to our automatic vehicle. Any hours you’ve already logged in your logbook will still count towards your 50-hour requirement, regardless of the transmission.

Not at all. We provide a modern, easy-to-drive manual car equipped with dual controls for all your lessons. This is actually the safest way to learn, as the instructor can intervene if you have any trouble with the gears or clutch while you’re still learning the ropes.

Once you’ve built up your confidence and skills with us, it’s a great idea to get some supervised hours in a family car if you have access to one. But for the technical stuff, our academy car is the perfect place to start.

If you pass your driving test in an automatic car, your licence will have a "C-A" (automatic) restriction. This means you are legally only allowed to drive automatic vehicles. If you want to drive a manual later, you’ll have to go through the PDA process again in a manual car to have the restriction removed.
